plain play
A child sitting in the grass, holding a dandelion.

A quiet app for children, and what to do when they put it down.

You'll get plain play, in real life — a free list that takes the games off the screen — and first word when the app, the decks, and the kit arrive. Nothing else.

You're on the list. Thank you.

the app

Twelve calm games for ages four to eight — slow, quiet, and low on stimulation, closer to a breath than a level. Each one is meant to be put down.

In testing now. Coming to the App Store.

notice — the world around you

A deck of forty-two cards, each one a small thing to notice: the quietest sound, the air after it rains, the cool side of your pillow. One edition for outside. One for before bed.

First decks ship after the app.

the constellation kit

A night sky on paper. Two pads — chart, with real constellations to find and trace, and create, for skies of your own.

A numbered first edition, later.

why

We noticed children's screens are built to be picked up and never put down. So we made one designed to do the opposite — and then we made what should be waiting on the other side, on paper.

Designed in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The making is documented at @plainplay.co.

privacy

The Plain Play app collects no personal information, has no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics. Nothing a child does in the app leaves the device.

This website keeps only the email address you give us for the list, so we can send you what we promised. We don't sell or share it, and every message has a way to unsubscribe. Questions: hello@plainplaykids.com.
